Goblins
“These creatures, with their mischievous grins and quick, darting movements, seem to embody a blend of curiosity and cunning. Once a race of primitive, communal tribes led by the strongest among them, the goblins' culture has been irrevocably changed by their enslavement under the Starfang Tribe and their orcish masters. Now, they are a people divided between reluctant subjugation and an uneasy embrace of their conquerors' ideals.” — Excerpt from the Journal of Explorer Talos Thorn
Physical Appearance:
Goblins are short, standing between 3 and 4 feet tall, with green skin and large pointed ears. Their small, wiry bodies are built for agility, and their sharp features are often animated with expressions of mischief or cunning.
Lifespans:
Goblins live about 80 years and have a high birthrate, leading to a large goblin population. Their prolific reproduction ensures their presence remains significant despite their societal challenges.
Culture and Beliefs:
Goblin culture is more barbaric than other civilized cultures and had remained largely primitive and uncivilized until their domination by the Starfang Tribe. Before their enslavement, goblins lived in communal tribes with no formal rule, often led by the largest and strongest among them. Their society was chaotic and driven by survival and strength.
Now enslaved by the Starfang Tribe, goblins live under the harsh rule of their orcish masters. Those who accept the ideals of the Starfang Tribe serve as warriors in their armies, while the rest live as slaves, performing various laborious tasks. The prolonged enslavement has instilled a subordinate approach in goblins, making them both terrified and enthralled by the orcs.
Despite their subjugation, an alarming number of goblins have adopted the Starfang ideals. Some have managed to escape and now live scattered across the galaxy. These free goblins often turn to professions suited to their nature, such as outlaws, thieves, mercenaries, and even shopkeepers.
Goblins are inherently mischievous and known for their pranks and cunning attitudes. They have a natural love for wealth and monetary possessions, leading many to become traders or thieves. Though often seen as barbaric soldiers of the Starfang Tribe, goblins are versatile and can adapt to various roles within and outside their imposed societal structure.
