====== Creation of the Heaven and Chaos Planes ====== When the [[timeline:shattering_of_the_arcanum_veil|Arcanum Veil shattered]], its immense power unleashed tore a hole in reality and created a new plane of existence outside of space and time. This place an infinite dark and empty void. Within this void, four beings emerged, their first breath granting them memories of the universe and advanced astral sentience. These beings were the first Prime Gods: * Prime Vitae: God of Life * Prime Temporis: God of Time * Prime Magicae: God of Magic * Prime Mortis: God of Death Prime Temporis used his powers to advance time, allowing Prime Vitae to sense connections with mysterious beings and entities in another plane of existence. Prime Vitae felt the birth of every creature, the seeding of every plant, and the creation of new microbes. As time passed, Prime Mortis felt the death of these entities, while Prime Magicae sensed the flow of arcane energies across the planes. Prime Magicae used this magical energy to create a physical, flat, and circular landmass in the void, which they named Heaven. The four beings, calling themselves the Prime Gods, began to understand their power, sentience, and connection to the infinite beings in the plane of the living. As the Prime Gods settled into their roles, they took on a benevolent approach as ominous guides and spectators over all planes. As beings in the living plane developed their own sentience, the Prime Gods created a new set of Lesser Gods, each representing concepts rooted in the lives of these beings. The gods began communicating with the living realm, offering guidance through mystical dreams and projections. The beings of the living realm began worshiping the gods, strengthening the connection between them and the gods. In return for their devotion, the gods offered eternal refuge in the Heaven realm, where the energy of devoted beings materialized as souls contributing to a beautiful and bustling afterlife. As the Heaven realm flourished, a schism arose among the gods. Some gods envisioned an afterlife not of peace, but of power and control. Luxurae, Goddess of Lust and Temptation, and Maeldrom, Goddess of Chaos, began a revolt. They corrupted Prime Magicae, causing a division in magical powers. This corruption resulted in the emergence of two distinct entities: Prime Magicae, who retained control over normal magic, and Prime Malorum, who embodied chaos magic. With Prime Mortis, God of Death, they created a new plane called the Chaos Realm through a cataclysmic ritual that tore a rift in the fabric of the void. This act of creation was an impressive and destructive feat, resulting in the formation of the Chaos Realm.
